Polyglutamic acid, also known as gamma polyglutamic acid, is a viscous anionic polymer of amino acids found in traditional food such as natto. This polymer is an isomorphic multi peptide biopolymer with glutamic acid as the structural unit, formed by amide bonds between α - amino and γ - carboxyl groups. Due to the presence of multiple hydrophilic groups in each structural unit of glutamic acid, a large number of hydrogen bonds can be formed within the polymer chain or between molecules, making glutamic acid a good water absorbing and water retaining ingredient and widely used in cosmetics.

Polyglutamic acid has good biocompatibility and film-forming properties, which can ensure the accumulation of water retaining components in the skin and enhance the energy of water retaining factors (NMF). Reduce the loss of transdermal moisture.

It can ensure the inhibition of hyaluronidase activity, which is beneficial for maintaining the content of hyaluronic acid, enhancing its function, and ensuring skin quality. PGA has the energy to reduce free radicals and minimize skin cell damage caused by excess free radicals.
